Sometimes when I say “I’m okay”, what I really want is for someone to hold my hand, look me in the eyes and say “I know that you’re not okay, here is $1000.00”.

The Phoenix. A bird closely associated with the sun. A divine being that shines brilliantly in the sky before it burns out into dust, only to rise again even stronger. A cyclical pattern of death and rebirth. A tale as old as time.
This is the myth you recall when you wake up one fateful morning, staring at a ceiling that you recognize in an instant as not yours. Somehow, you seem to know what has happened. You recall looking over a dead horizon that only bore the burden of destruction and devastation. Fires burning down the buildings, winds ripping the trees from the land, water drowning everything in sight.
You remember it clearly—your home in ruins, as if it were only yesterday.
But here you stand, now looking out a window and seeing nothing but lush forest, green grass and the peaceful sound of a river and your neighbors as they head out on their daily routines.
A prosperous land born of the remains of the old. A countryside unmarked by whatever plagued it in incarnations before.
It takes a few weeks for you to settle in, to recognize this new place as your permanent residence. You wave hello to the friends you pass by now, and grab your usual loaf of bread at the bakery. A day like any other, until the shrieking of civilians topples the volume of everything else as you look back to see a mountain top explode in a rush of lava.
You can’t remember how quickly or why your eyes closed on the waves of fire and heat, but when you open them once again you are greeted by that now-familiar roof, and once your confusion subsides the sight of pristine grass and forest greet you when you look out your window again.
And then you remember once more, the story of The Phoenix.
Welcome to Phenix Epidrasi! A panfandom roleplaying group centered around Benu, a village in a world created by the destruction and merging of multiple universes.
